Hindley Juniors Mini Soccer NewS Letter Feb 08
Mini Soccer News Letter Feb 08
In this Newsletter… Congratulations to EVERY U8s team on winning a trophy… and U10s too!…New FA Soccer Skills Gala to be added to Mini League fixtures on Sunday 20th April for U8s and 27th April for U10s … Easter Gala Day 30th March…Managers Meeting Sunday 9th March… and EGM same night…Upcoming Club Entertainment…
Congratulations to Tigers U8s (who hadn’t won a game until December) on finishing as Champions of the XMAS Cup competition! Every U8s team has now won a major trophy, which they will receive on Presentation Night…
(Parents – please note: of course, the Mini League is 100% Non- Competitive – that is why there are no results, tables etc published anywhere. Every team will pick up “League and European Championship Cups” at the end of the season and every player will receive identical trophies. They will all feel like the champions that they are regardless of wins, draws and losses; they will have made friends (some will last a lifetime), grown in confidence and played their hearts out for their team all year!
The mini league is a place for them to learn and to enjoy playing football – and if we all “encourage” that, then they will develop and improve their abilities so much faster and better than if we shout and tell them what to do! (And that goes for coaches as well as parents). For parents, “Encouragement” means letting them get on with it and telling them how well they are doing (rather than, say, being a “supporter”. For coaches, “Encouragement” means guiding and teaching the children in training, before games and at half time, rather than, say, being a “team manager.”)
Whilst typing this, I am of course very conscious of sounding like a preacher! I can only assure you that these are not just my own views or even just the views of the club. These views are those of both the FA and of the professional clubs too.
If you genuinely want the best for your kids – and you are willing to do YOUR best to help them – then “Encourage” them as per above. We are sure the majority of you will and we will keep preaching at the rest – because only when we all do it, will the environment be perfect for the kids…
The FA have launched a new “Soccer Skills” Programme and HJFC will include a GALA DAY for each of the age groups (and incorporate these into our “player assessments” this year.
The U8s will be on Sunday 20th April, and the U10s on the 27th April.
These are sessions not to be missed and players and parents alike will love them!
Ps – you can find out more about the new FA skills programme at www.fasoccerskills.com, which you can also access via www.hindleyjunios.com
On the subject of Galas, the EASTER GALA TOURNAMENT (with all kinds of “on and off the field” activities) is booked for Sunday 30th March. Keep the date firmly in mind and watch this space for the “off the field” stuff that is being organised!
A reminder to the managers… the MARCH MINI LEAGUE MANAGERS MEETING is on SUNDAY 9th March (2 weeks today)
Being the penultimate meeting of the season, it is an important one to attend. Key agenda items include the fixtures to the end of season, presentation night arrangements, SPAA funding for L1s and L2s, Education programmes and functions.
There will be an EGM as well on the night regarding financial proposals for next season.
And coming soon in the JIM KENYON CLUB
Next Saturday we have Paul T Allen, superb Vocalist & Entertainer, and there are
just a few tickets left for this one
Friday 14th March we have MEATLOAF here!
In the shape of Mark Paul who’s a real dead ringer
And a tribute act for Meatloaf and a great all round
Entertainer as well
Tickets for both events are just £5 – and this includes a hot pot supper! Come on down and have a great night out while supporting the club that supports your kids.
Ask anybody who has been to any of the “do’s” and they will tell you we always get top acts and a great friendly atmosphere makes sure it’s a great night
Come on down!
